Albany School of Humanities experienced an unplanned fire alarm on Tuesday morning.
The alarm sounded at about 7:30 a.m. The Albany Fire Department arrived immediately and First Student buses and parents/guardians who were dropping off for the school day did have to be rerouted.
The fire department investigated and cleared the building. Students and staff were allowed to enter the building around 8:05 a.m.
The incident occurred due to a faulty smoke head and that device is being replaced.
The health and safety of our students is a top priority at our school and throughout the City School District of Albany. If you have any questions about Tuesday’s incident, please call school at (518) 475-6675.
