The Albany High School Guidance Department will host a College Information Night for sophomores, juniors and their families on Feb. 2 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
The event is geared toward any student who is considering pursuing education after high school, whether at a four-year or two-year college, a business college or technical school.
Here's a rundown of the evening:
6:30 p.m.: Welcome and College Admissions Overview
You’ll learn about the college admissions process, including researching colleges, finding the right fit schools, admissions requirements, trends in competitive college admissions and a planning timeline.
7 p.m.: Discover the SUNY Colleges
Learn about the two- and four-year college options within the vast State University of New York (SUNY) system. With 64 campuses, the SUNY system includes large university centers, university colleges, colleges of technology, and community colleges.
7:30 p.m.: Financial Aid 101
This workshop focuses on grants, scholarships, loans and work-study, and will discuss the different sources of financial aid and the process for applying.
