Allisen Brodie will return to Pine Hills Elementary School as its assistant principal on Wednesday.
Brodie will join Principal Tia Corniel on the school’s leadership team as the City School District of Albany begins to strategically rebuild its staffing and programs.
Brodie is among 74.2 faculty and staff members the district is adding during the third marking period as it expands in-person opportunities for general education students in grades 7-12 and begins to restore supports for students across all grade levels.
In September, the position was among the 215.6 positions the district reduced when faced with the possibility of a 20% reduction in state aid due to the COVID-19 economic crisis. The district also is planning to rehire additional faculty and staff for the fourth quarter, which begins April 26.
Brodie began as assistant principal at Pine Hills in August 2018. Prior to that she worked as an assistant principal at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School and as a teacher at William S. Hackett Middle School.
