Interruptions with virtual instruction are possible Thursday due to widespread power outages throughout the Capital Region. Teachers and students may be unable to log in to their Google Classrooms due to these power outages in some areas.
If your student encounters this problem, or if your family also is experiencing a power outage, please know that students will not be penalized for missing assignments or failing to attend school Thursday, whether they are scheduled to attend in-person or virtually.
The City School District of Albany is moving forward with in-person instruction on a normal schedule Thursday. The district experienced phone outages Thursday morning due to the power outages, and they continued intermittently throughout the day. As of 12:30 p.m., district schools and offices were unable to receive or place external phone calls.
