The following is an important message from Principal Rosalind Gaines-Harrell:
I am writing to tell you that Arbor Hill Elementary School experienced an unplanned fire drill on Monday.
The alarm sounded at about 11:40 a.m. The Albany Fire Department arrived immediately, investigated and determined that construction work activated one of the building's smoke detectors. Students were outside for about ten minutes and, at no time, were students, staff or faculty in any danger.
The health and safety of our students is a top priority at Arbor Hill Elementary, and throughout the City School District of Albany. If you have any questions about Wednesday's incident, please call me at (518) 475-6625.
