All City School District of Albany schools will hold fall parent-teacher conferences Thursday afternoon and evening, and Friday afternoon, and there is no school for students on Friday.
Here’s a schedule for both days:
Thursday is a regular school day.
Elementary after-school programs will operate on their regular schedule, and parents and guardians of elementary students who participate in specific after-school clubs should check with their principal to see if those programs are taking place.
There will be no after-school programs or clubs for middle school and high school students Thursday. However, athletic activities will take place as usual.
- Early start elementary conferences – 3:30-6:30 p.m.
- Late-start elementary conferences – 4:30-7:30 p.m.
- Middle school conferences – 4-7 p.m.
- Albany High School, Albany International Center and Tony Clement Center for Education conferences – 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Friday there is no school for students. District employees will participate in professional development from 8-11 a.m., and parent-teacher conferences will be held at all schools from noon-3 p.m.
Elementary parents and guardians can contact their child’s teacher to schedule a meeting. For middle school and high school conferences, you can contact your school’s main office or, at Albany High School, your academy office, to schedule an appointment.
Holding parent-teacher meetings at this time of the fall and again in the winter, rather than once a year immediately before the Thanksgiving break as in the past, provides an opportunity to better support students throughout the school year. The flexibility of evening hours also provides more options for parents and guardians in scheduling.
