The #1 high school girl diver in New York State is a Falcon!
Anna Flanders won her first state diving championship on Friday. She’s also the first diver in Albany High School’s history to earn the state title.
The sophomore scored 509.70 through a series of seven dives and clinched the title with a back one and a half with one and a half twists. Flanders’ best dive of the meet, however, was an inward dive pike with earned a score of 9.5.
Flanders finished eighth in the state meet in 2019 as an eighth grader. The state swimming and diving competition was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Congratulations to Anna Flanders on this incredible success!
