The City School District of Albany Board of Education unanimously re-elected Anne Savage on Thursday night to serve as president for a fourth consecutive year.
Vickie Smith and Sridar Chittur, Ph.D. were also sworn in to begin their new four-year terms.
Additionally, the board re-elected Smith to serve as vice president and elected Chittur to serve a first term as secretary.
“It is an ancrible honor to serve on this board and with this group of people,” said Savage, in her seventh year on the board.
She commended Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams, and all district employees, for their dedication to meeting the COVID-19 related challenges of the past school year and added that she is looking forward to leading the Board again as the district, city, state, country and world recover from the pandemic.
