The City School District of Albany Board of Education on Thursday appointed Christina Lebrecht as a new assistant director of special education.
Lebrecht joined the school district as a substitute teacher in the fall of 2012. She was hired as a first-grade teacher at Eagle Point Elementary School in September 2013 and has held that position since. She also has taught in the school district’s special education summer program since 2013 and has served as coordinator of that program since 2019.
Lebrecht has a certificate of advanced studies from SUNY New Paltz and is a state-certified school district leader and school building leader. She holds a master’s in literacy from the University at Albany and a bachelor’s in education from SUNY Plattsburgh.
She joins the Special Education Department leadership team of Director Elaine Griessler and Assistant Director Catie Magil.
